STELLITE alloys are cobalt base and give excellent wear, galling, corrosion and erosion resistance. At high temperature they retain these properties, whilst showing a high degree of hardness.
Excellent resistance to abrasion, good corrosion resistance; used for pumps sleeves and expeller screws.
Resistance to severe abrasion and corrosion; and in the manufacture of dry cell batteries.
Excellent resistance to cavitation and erosion, outstanding self-mating, anti galling characteristics; used for valve seats, plugs, pumps, bearings, shafts, erosion shields, rotors, etc. Stellite 6 is the most generally useful cobalt alloy, having excellent resistance to many forms of mechanical and chemical degradation over a wide temperature range. Particular attributes are its outstanding self-mated anti-galling properties, which result in its wide use as a valve seat material, high temperature hardness, and a high resistance to cavitation erosion. The alloy is ideally suited to a variety of hardfacing processes.
High bulk hardness and resistance to abrasion; used for cutting edges in the carpet, timber and plastic industry.
High corrosion resistance and wear resistant properties; used for valve seat facings in internal combustion engines.
Excellent high temperature strength, combines resistance to galling, cavitation, erosion and corrosion with toughness and work hardening properties; used extensively in the forging industry.
Microstructural stability at elevated temperature; used for gas turbine components, mating faces of steam valves.
Extremely high anti-abrasive properties; used for journals of tri-cone rock bits.
Good hot hardness and excellent resistance to thermal and mechanical shock; ideal forging die material.
